If it’s not going to smack of blasphemy, let’s paraphrase our Lord and Saviour: he without sin cast the first stone. Sexting these days is as common as the smartphones it’s done on- everybody does it.

Sexting is the act of sharing sexual texts mostly photos of body parts with friends- or a special friend.

With the advent of internet and especially among millennials, sexting to most is the next best thing after social media. However it’s not limited to only that demography as much more older people also engage in and love it too!

To some folks, it’s disgraceful to send naked pictures of oneself but it’s not that bad. As a matter of fact, sexting does have benefits.

Researchers at Drexel University found that 88% of respondents between the ages of 18 and 82 said they had sexted at least once.

The researchers also asked participants about their sexual and relationship satisfaction, and it turns out that most people who sexted were happier. They found that people who sexted within a relationship reported being more satisfied sexually.

I know this to be true: once when my girlfriend and I lived in separate cities and could only communicate over the phone. We racked up a ton of recharge cards by talking all the time but we were still unsatisfied. Until I sent her a photo of my sausage and she sent one of her melons (wink wink) that the void that existed between us was filled. We felt closer just like we use to whenever we were hand in hand and face to face.

I sent her a picture of my junk.

The sext messages provided intimacy in way that phone conversations or plain text messages never did. The pictures were just more than words. The excitement was back and the burning passion was fuelled by the tantalizing images.

Sending nudes to each other is an entirely different level of intimacy and trust. It allows lovers and even married couples to be more open and in many cases helps them garner a whole new level of body confidence.

A caveat thought: sexting does have its own pitfalls. It could fall into wrong hands and a current lover might become a bitter ex who could share the nudes maliciously. As with everything, discretion is key. Be sure it’s for the right reason(s) and with the right person or people. Happy sexting!
