There is something fascinating about watching two people fall in love. You get to live vicariously through them while picking up lessons along the way.
In the just concluded BBNaija season 6, one of the famous ships was a love triangle that housed Saskay, Cross and Jaypaul as they floated across the Big Brother house.
The twist, the dilemma, and the challenges that come with love triangles can be entertaining till it happens to you. What’s worse is when you don’t know how you feel about either one of the people involved. We learned some lessons while watching Saskay, Cross, and Jaypaul navigate love in the BBNaija house.
Determination Keeps Love Alive
Members of a love triangle usually jump ship at some point, but that wasn’t the case in this scenario. Jaypaul showed us how effective determination was in the race for love. He believed the ball was in Saskay’s court, but he did all he could to influence that choice. He spent 500 Abeg Naira on flowers with a lovely message for Saskay. Given their limited resources, Jaypaul still found a way to make her feel special.
A little Competition Never Hurt
Although Saskay was in a relationship outside the show, Cross showed no signs of giving up. Most men would feel threatened when they find out they’re not the only suitor, but Cross didn’t mind the competition. If you really care, you’ll forget about the others. They might not choose you in the end, but at least you tried.
All Parties Must Be Aware
It isn’t a love triangle unless all parties involved know they’re in it. Otherwise, it’s just called double dating. At one point, we weren’t sure if Saskay was playing the role of Casanova. Knowing how difficult it is to find a love interest these days, having two men vying for your affections is considered a win in our books.
Triangles Can’t Go On Forever
Ultimately, you have to make a choice. We can’t say we liked how Saskay handled the situation by lying to one while sneaking off to spend time with the other. But at the end of the day, she made her decision, and all parties respected it. In the end, Sasjay won. We can only hope whatever they had on the show blossoms into something more outside it.
