Lady Gaga won an Oscar for Best Original Song at the 2019 Academy Awards and gave the most emotional and inspiring acceptance speech.

Teary-eyed, the 32-year-old “A Star Is Born” actress started off thanking the Academy, her family and her co-star, Bradley Cooper; the went on to drop a quick advice to everyone watching from their couches (i.e us) at home.

“Thank you so much to The Academy for this wonderful honour. Thank you to every single person in this film,” she said, then went on to thank her co-writers, her sister and family who were present in the room.

To Bradley she said, “there is not a single person on the planet that could have sung this song with me but you. Thank you for believing in us.”

And then her inspiring message…

“If you are home, and you’re sitting on your couch and watching this right now, all I have to say is that this is hard work. I’ve worked hard for a long time and it’s not about winning, but what it’s about is not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it. If there’s a discipline or a passion, it’s not about how many times you get rejected or you fall down or get beaten up, it’s about how many times you stand up and are brave and keep on going. Thank you.”

The superstar who was also nominated for ‘Best Actress’ looked gorgeous in a structured black dress by Alexander McQueen.
