Kofi Kinaata parts ways with High Grade Family
Follow @eventlabgh < “Fante rap god” Kofi Kinaata is no longer with Samini’s High Grade Family label. The announcement was...
In the five years that Kinaata was with the label, he has risen to become a true A-List act, publishing several hit songs and bagging multiple awards in the process. He has also grown his fanbase, Team Move, into one of the country’s biggest, rivalling followers from Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie among other ace GH acts.
In the statement, the Hight Grade Family extolled Kinaata’s growth and ingenuity over the years, also emphasising that the move “now opens the doorway for Kofi Kinaata to determine his next line of action and further grow his musical prowess”.
It is unlikely that the rapper (known privately as Martin King Arthur) will join another label. Rather he looks poised to flow his independent label.
Kofi Kinaata, while he’s still significantly young, is already a respected songwriter in the country for his depth of thought and mastery over storytelling –something which has seen him pick up the VGMA laurel for ‘Songwriter of the Year” more than once.
He recently released videos for his songs “Last Show”, “Time No Dey”, and “Single and Free”.
