It appears trouble loves to follow R&B megastar Chris Brown where ever he goes! Moments after touching down in Mombasa on Saturday mid-morning, he was marred by controversy. A female fan accused him of “smashing” her phone when she requested to take a selfie with the star singer.
The woman in the centre of the whole hullabaloo, now identified as Brenda Chepkoech, alleged that the Loyal hitmaker took her iPhone 6 from behind and smashed it on the ground as she tried to take a quick selfie. She even went ahead to hurriedly convene a ‘press’ briefing on the same where she aired her utter “disappointment’” in Chris Brown.
However, a statement from the security unit at the Moi International Airport, where the alleged incident was said to have happened, suggested to the contrary. The security report issued moments after Brenda’s accusations, said that there was no phone that was destroyed by the singer.
Now, it has emerged that the now controversial Brenda is a renown serial selfie-taker. It can therefore be said that her actions to try and frame the superstar could have been as a result of her being denied the opportunity to snap the moment she ‘hang around’ one of the world’s most famous celebrity figures. Am I making sense??
Brenda, the serial selfie-taker, has previously taken selfies with prominent personalities in Kenyan including the most powerful man in the land, President Uhuru Kenyatta, and his deputy William Ruto.
Also in Brenda’s impressive collection of selfies are celebrities such as Kenyan singer Avril and comedian Erick Omondi among other popular celebrities.
Chris Brown was in the country for a show, which went down last night at the Mombasa Golf Club.
