Nigerian screenwriter and director, Kemi Adetiba, is set to deliver yet another blockbuster, with the upcoming theatrical release of King Of Boys. The renowned filmmaker, who raised the bar of Nigerian movies with 2016 smash hit “The Wedding Party”, may be changing the face of Nollywood forever with her upcoming movie.
From a compelling storyline, to a fantastic lineup of actors, Kemi Adetiba breaks the trend of stereotyped movie productions in Nigeria.
King of Boys follows the story of Alhaja Eniola Salami, a businesswoman and philanthropist with a troubled past and a promising political future. An influential figure, she is loved by many, feared by most.
As her political ambitions see her outgrowing the underworld connections responsible for her considerable wealth, she’s drawn into a territorial battle as her questionable past and political ambitions clash.
King of Boys disrupts sexism in the African society as it empowers the female gender and portrays the struggle of a woman to rise in her society against all odds. The movie also depicts the struggle of a woman whose checkered past poses a hurdle to her political ambitions. Pressed hard on all sides, yet determined to achieve her goal, Alhaja Eniola Salami, played by Sola Sobowale, is set to take out whoever stands in her way and prove that she is indeed ‘Laburu,’ God’s worst punishment in a person.
Coming to the cinemas on Friday 26th of October, Nollywood fans are to expect intense drama, an authentic storyline, and the best of cinematography when King of Boys hits cinemas near you.
The movie will feature memorable performances from some of Nollywood’s finest actors and actresses including the likes Sola Sobowale, Jide Kosoko, Sani Mu’azu, Funlola Aofiyebi, Lanre Hasan (Iya Awero), Adesua Etomi, Toni Tones, Sharon Ooja, Paul Sambo, Ademola Adedoyin, Osas Ighodaro, as well as break out performances from rap duo Reminisce and ill Bliss.
