It was only a few weeks ago that Toke Makinwa was telling us in an episode of her vlog that she can’t afford a Birkin bag (among other things) right now.
But a whole lot can happen in a few weeks and Toke has gone from not being able to afford one to being a proud owner of the most lusted after fashion items in the world – otherwise known as the Birkin.
Can’t sit with us! The media girl and her new Birkin stepped out to grab a bite.
The media girl proudly showed off her new tote in a luxuriant blue color on Instagram and it didn’t go unnoticed by her observant fans who wanted to know how she’s suddenly able to afford one.
It wasn’t long before she clarified that she didn’t buy it herself. It was actually a gift from someone, presumably a friend. (Yeah I’m currently reevaluating my friendships ?)
Things are surely looking up for the media girl as she also coyly revealed in another post that she recently bought herself the car of her dreams.
“I’m learning to breathe again, learning to let go and completely let God with everything (not some but all), I’m learning to appreciate my journey, learning to accept God’s blessings without feeling guilty, undeserving or scared of what may come next ?. I’m learning to trust again, learning to take better care of myself, (? I bought myself the car of my dreams and I make no apologies for it) “Thank you Jesus”….. I’m learning to not be so hard on me even when I fall. I’m learning about life each day, learning to see beauty in everyone and every situation. I am human, I am learning, I am becoming ❤️,” she wrote.
Toke joins the league of very few Nigerian celebrities including Linda Ikeji and Genevieve Nnaji who own the luxury Hermes Birkin bag.
