Johnny Depp‘s extraordinarily expensive taste in wine just might be the death of him.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor whose love for wine is public knowledge reportedly spends nothing less than $30,ooo on wine each month.
This is according to court documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter after the actor sued his former business managers for ‘gross misconduct’ asking for $25 million in compensation.
Depp had claimed that “the firm collected $28 million in contingent fees he never agreed to, consistently failed to file or pay his taxes on time, failed to keep proper books and loaned nearly $10 million of his money to third parties without authorisation.”
The management company has however come out to refute the claims revealing that the award-winning actor was living way above his means.
According to the company’s attorney, “Depp lived an ultra-extravagant lifestyle that often knowingly cost him in excess of $2 million per month to maintain, which he simply could not afford.”
But wine isn’t the sole source of Depp’s financial troubles. He is also said to have burnt $75 million on 14 luxury residences and $18 million on a luxury yacht among other frivolities.
His ex-managers also revealed they warned him to get a pre-nuptial before marrying Amber Heard in 2015.
His messy divorce from Amber Heard cost him close to $10 million
The two whose very messy divorce was splashed all over the news last year finally settled out of court with Depp agreeing to pay Amber a settlement of close to $10 million.
