John Dumelo Files Criminal Complaint Against Lydia Seyram Alhassan Over Alleged Electoral Malpractices

Ghanaian actor-turned-politician and parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket, has formally filed a criminal complaint against Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the current Member of Parliament for the constituency.

The complaint, submitted on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), includes video evidence which Dumelo’s team claims shows Alhassan engaging in activities that violate Ghana’s criminal and electoral laws.

Along with the video recordings, Dumelo’s team also presented information detailing Alhassan’s alleged efforts to unlawfully influence voters ahead of the upcoming December 7, 2024 general elections. The thespian has called for immediate and decisive action by the OSP to prevent Alhassan from repeating these actions and to hold both her and her associates accountable.

The NDC Parliamentary candidate  further emphasized the importance of the OSP’s response in the coming days, noting that how the office handles this complaint will be crucial in determining the fairness and integrity of the upcoming election.

 Dumelo shared the post on his social media platforms, attaching a photo of the formal complaint, and underscored that the actions taken by the OSP would play a pivotal role in ensuring the election is conducted with transparency.
