Now It’s been announced that Jay Z will produce an NBC series about the Army’s first African American sniper, Nicholas Irving.

The project will be a six-hour NBC miniseries based on Nicholas Irving’s 2015 memoir The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers. Irving was a special ops sniper with the nickname “the Reaper”. The role of Nicholas Irving will be played by Sterling K. Brown, who won an Emmy for The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

A source said “The series will take a look inside the life of the world of special ops. The plan is to start filming early next year” . The Weinstein Company already picked up the rights to Irving’s book.
