Jay-Z reveals why he and Beyonce named their twins Sir and Rumi Carter

Hip hop legend and music mogul, Jay Z, has finally revealed the reason behind he and Beyoncé naming their twins not so common names..

Just like their older sister Blue Ivy, twins Rumi and Sir Carter, who were born June 14, boast extremely unique names — names which Hov gave an explanation..

Sitting down with theRap Radar podcast, Jay Z explained to hosts Elliot Wilson and Brian Miller that Rumi’s name was relatively easy to choose.

He said;

“Rumi is our favourite poet, so it was for our daughter,”

But their son Sir, he revealed, wasn’t named after anyone.

“Sir was like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir,” the rapper said.
