Just when the world thought it has lost one of it’s precious sons, an African legend precisely Fela Kuti, music has given birth to yet another electrifying new version of old Fela Kuti who is inclined to real music (addressing societal issues, women, children, racism, oneness, African history and riches of Africa, etc). He is all about the truth. His presence in the industry is a force to reckon, this young act in question is determined to win and develop a willpower to keep in shape, committed and to maintain high level of sanity in his music, this makes him stand out. In so doing, he is poised to step on some toes in the positive light because he has more than enough to write and voice out. He goes by name Philemon Edem Kojo Adzraku, known in the showbiz circle as fontomfrom. Fortunately for him,  he comes from a family with so much love for music, he is from a family of 5; parents and two lovely sisters including himself. He is a multinational, born in Sierra Leone but raised in Ghana. He had his basic education at Daras Junior High school, continued to Pope John’s Senior High school, later he went to Cape Coast University where he read sociology, geography and economics and finally he landed himself at Central University where he studied architecture for 5 good years.

Edem grew up listening to all sort of consciously inspired  music but Fela Kuti’s stiff neck in voicing out the truth musically and style of written got his attention which ignited his love for music full time. He grew up singing, playing instruments  such as the guitar, keyboard among other instruments at church. Since there are no limitations to the mind except for those we acknowledge, Edem mapped out a practical plan to a become musician because he was born with music in his genes and DNA. Aside music and architectural duties, Fontonfrom is a strong Christian, who fellowships at ICGC. According to him, in as much as there are talented artists without number in the industry, there are only a few whose music carry lots of transformational messages that seeks to inspire and encourage the masses in the positive light; Manifest, Worlasi and couple of others.

Very simply cum gentle looking in appearance, music wise he is a geek, he knows exactly what he is about. His magnitude of passion married with determination for music is an equation to solve when the time is right. He is diversified in all genre of music but he is more of a street jazz and a spoken word artist, who is adventurous and very selective with his lyrical composition. He taps inspiration from infinite intelligence when penning down lyrics to his song, which makes his lyrics explosive like dynamite at the same time precious as egg. He uses conscious and deep seeded lyrics to make unconscious people conscious.

As stated earlier, his songs revolves around themes about Africa, colonialism, black people, love, peace, injustice, anti-war, anti-tribalism and mental slavery. He has a unique way of addressing earthshaking points in an interesting style. His style of music addresses nothing but the truth regardless of people’s opinion about him. To roll down the curtains, Edem is simply the mouthpiece for the voiceless. Expect the unexpected from the Talking Drum.
