To leave a Legacy, It is imperative for one to train successors. In this sense it has been established that the growth of any individual/industry has its fundamentals based not only on putting the right structures in place but also the on the impartation of knowledge and requisite skills to ensure proper human resource development.

It was the above stated reason that The Individual To Industry, “Model Master Class” was organized by Ghanaian International Model Roselyn Ashkar in partnership with Africa1Media. The main goal as described by Ms. Ashkar was to help educate and empower young model and fashion hopefuls in the Ghanaian model and fashion industry.

The maiden edition of the proposed annual ritual was held at the plush Carbon Lounge at  Airport City on the 2nd of September 2017 and hosted by Antoine Mensah of Live FM.

The class brought together 60 participants who were educated through interactive lecture sessions by celebrated Ghanaian fashion icons who focused on the basic knowledge and etiquette needed by the participants of the class.

The speakers included Afua Rida, Photography geniuses Steve Morris & Amfo Connolly, Glitz Style Awards Make Up Artiste of the Year 2017, Valerie Lawson, a special guest speaker in the person of Ghanaian International Model Kate Menson, and the spearhead of the event, Roselyn Ashkar who is the 2017 Glitz Style Awards Model of the Year.

The discussed topics ranged from beauty and skin care, styling and imagery as-well-as photography and portfolio building.

In addition to the giveaways presented to each participant, A raffle was organized through which two lucky participants won free portfolio test photoshoots courtesy Roselyn, Steve Morris and Amfo Connolly.

To finalize, Ms. Ashkar stated that the need to empower the next generation is vital to the success and growth of the fashion and model industry as its future lies in them.  She further stressed that only by hard work and professionalism can they attain their goals.

The Individual To Industry Model Master Class was sponsored by Carbon, Yolo Experiences, Odara, Contours by Valerie Lawson, CQ Legal & Consulting and Uber.
