The recently held African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) was asuccessful one with many positive stories to take away from the event. It was a melting pot for the African movie industry.

IK Osakioduwa, the host of the event, had a splendid time with his co-host, South Africa Minnie Dlamini-Jones until he cracked a joke about dancers after Falz’s performance. Immediately after his joke, he came chastised by tweeps for his choice of words.

Falz had performed with his dancers, both male and female at the event and as he wrapped up his performance, the female dancers came around him with their sensational moves. Shortly after their performance, IK came on stage and said he would prefer to be a singer rather than being an actor in his next coming to this world. He explained that while an actor have to work better on his art, the singer with just a hit will continue to reign.

He also mentioned the fact that he wants to enjoy the services of female dancers whom he referred to as irresponsible. He had said: “In my next life I want to be a music artiste so I can have irresponsible girls dancing around me”

This didn’t sit well with some Nigerians who took offence to it and called I.K out on Twitter.

In a swift reaction to his comment and the reactions that have followed, IK had tweeted an apology saying sorry to the people it offended. He also explained what he meant by that. See his apology below:

Despite his apology, some people still thinks it is not well tendered and as such are calling on him to do the needful.
