Veteran South African actor, Sello Maake ka Ncube, who is loved for his role as busniessman Archie Moroka in the long running SABC soapie ‘Generations’ has had his dream of playing a gay character come to life – and he is excited about it!

Speaking to Sowetan about his character Kgositsile on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen, Sello said that he has wanted to play a gay character all his life.

“I am playing a gay man for the first time. Honestly, I have been wanting to do this for all my life. It’s exciting and liberating to play the role. I would have wanted to play this role in my youth days,” Sello said.

According to the actor, he found out three days before he started shooting for the telenovela that he was going to play a gay character.And that he has been enjoying every moment of it.

The Queen has been a hit with viewers, making the trends list every time it airs. It boasts a star-studded cast including Connie Ferguson, Natasha Thahane and Mbali Nkosi.
