Hitz 103.9fm studio in Ghana was very hot for over 30 minutes when King Lagazee interviewed celebrated Jamaican Dancehall Veteran, Desmond John Ballentine, popularly known as NINJA MAN.
“Sound system artistes are the grassroots artistes. You have to go through that to be recognized as a Dancehall artistes. I produced Shabba Ranks, SuperCat and a whole lot of other artistes. I don’t have any reason to do Sting again. He can keep his respect. I don’t want any respect from Mr. Laing. You should look at what you’re going to do before you make a step. Greedy dog gets choked”, Ninja Man says.
He disclosed on King Lagazee’s show that he will not appear at the Sting awards night and he is not expecting anything from them.
Ninja Man on Shabba Ranks:
“I am the one who put him on the road and showed him the way. I love him as a brother and he has done a lot for himself on the journey but the question you’re asking me I’m not sure I am the best person to answer that. Maybe Shabba Ranks should answer that. Shabba Ranks feels people should love him more than me. He feels his awards put him in a lead more than me who is globally loved and revered all over the world. I have the biggest award because the people love me. Some man come on earth to live and save. Some man come here to live and lose it.”
Ninja Man on Kiprich:
“The music is not a one man business so no singular man owns it. Kiprich is a good artiste and me as a veteran I need to spread the wings and extend the lineage. He was the only artiste who came to me in the prison and kept my name in the news and defended it. So I feel honoured by that and me always a give him forward.”
Ninja Man’s message to Africa:
Africans are the greatest people. So Africans should be wary of the Western World. Be careful of
They try to kill the black man always. They come to do all medical tests and vaccines in Africa. They come to Africa to test AIDS, Ebola and others. Be careful of the food and water you drink. Africa better stand up and rise up as a nation.
He discloses a release of a 16-track album before the end of January 2017. Meanwhile, he says he’s recorded 25 albums (to his credit).
