YBNL Boss, Olamide recently paid a visit to the Soundcity 98.5 FM studios to discuss with Moet Abebe on The Takeover. The rapper disclosed that he would not be dropping an album this year. He explained that he did not intend to drop an album last year but eventually caved in to pressure from fans and marketers.
He also revealed the reason for his vocal support for Big Brother Naija winner, Efe even amidst much criticism. Olamide revealed that he does not pay much attention to talent but a person’s drive, dedication and hardwork.
Abebe asked the rapper whether he still had plans to collaborate with Efe, has he had earlier declared his plans to be part of his success story.
“Whenever he is ready”, Olamide responded. “The only reason i said that is ‘cos a lot of people tend to look down on people who they think ‘oh this dude or person is not talented enough’, but what i see in people is beyond the cover, you know, you don’t judge a book by its cover in most cases. I see zeal, i see hunger, i see a passionate person anytime i see Efe, and someone who is really ready to grind, and someone who is going to be really diligent with his work, and it has been written, if you’re diligent with your work, you will dine with kings. So, the guy might not be all that fantastic or spectacular, but i can see it in him, and overtime, he’s going to develop himself as he grows in the industry. So, if people can just give him time, give him an opportunity to support him an let him know anything is possible. Anybody can achieve anything, all you have to do is just a little encouragement.”
