42 year old US rapper Nelly has broken his silence on the shocking rape claim which surfaced yesterday..
Recall, TMZ broke the news yesterday that the singer was arrested after allegedly ra-ping a woman on his tour bus..
The singer was then booked and released without being charged in the wake of the damning allegations..
Now, the singer reveals he is beyond shocked at the “false allegation” and is confident he’ll be exonerated once the facts are in.
He claims he’s been targeted by the accuser but apologized to his loved ones for the embarrassment and for putting himself in a bad situation.
He also vows to take legal action against the “defaming claim” and reaffirms he’s not been charged with a crime yet.
Let me say that I am beyond shocked that I have been targeted with this false allegation. I am completely innocent. I am confident that once the facts are looked at , it will be very clear that I am the victim of a false allegation.

However, in an email, Nelly’s lawyer Scott Rosenblum said they’re confident the charges would be dropped.
“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness.
I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
