For over several decades,  beauty pageants have been organized with everal aims and objectives neglecting the field of Agriculture, meanwhile, as a country you always hear our leaders on various platforms talikng about importance of agriculture to the country and also Agriculture adding up to the growth of the economy.

This is why Akos, the 2nd Runner up of TV3’s Ghanas Most Beautiful fame on collaboration with the Adeiso traditional coucil in the Upper West Akyim dustrict, Adeiso came up with the UWAD project.

UWAD is an acronym for “Uniting Women for Agricultural Development” with the aim to encourage and support more females to take up Agriculture like any other profitable venture or as an alternative venture.

Miss UWAD is one of Ghana’s finest Agrobeauty pageant which seeks and boost the interest of young ladies in the field of Agriculture.

This is the maiden edition of this auspicious pageant that seeks to hold its Grande Finally on the 12th of August 2017 at the M- Plaza hotel @6pm

The winner for the maiden edition gets to walk away with 5plots of land, 5,000 cedis cash price , A dinner package and treat by ibis styles hotel, the brand ambassador for the UWAD brand and other souvenirs from sponsors.

This years edition was supported by Blueskies Ghana which is main sponsor, supported by GTP Nustyle,  Ibis style hotel, 2cc Beads, Lola’s braiding hair and saloon services, yum-mie instant noodles, bel-Aqua, TAT detergents and the Airport View Hotel.

We encourage the Ministry of Agriculture and all corporate and individual bodies to support this laudable initiative.
