Ghanaians should pray for Joyce Dzidzor Mensah – AIDS commission

The Acting Director General of the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC), Steve Kyeremeh Atuahene has called on Ghanaians to pray for former HIV/AIDS Ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah.
Mr Kyeremeh Atuahene also said that, aside the prayers, Madam Dzidzor Mensah needed a psychological evaluation.

Asked by Captain Smart, about the commission’s reaction to the conduct of the AIDS Ambassador, Mr Kyeremeh Atuahene said: “She came out to admit that she was HIV positive after declaring publicly that she was not but for now, all we would ask from Ghanaians is to pray for her”.

“Doctors, especially, should volunteer to assist her psychologically because we think she really needs help,” he added.

In December 2014, Dzidzor  announced to the general public that she lied about her HIV/AIDS status for years and had never tested positive for the disease before working with the Ghana AIDS commission as an HIV/AIDS ambassador.

After that declaration, she has been on several media platforms trying to defend her actions, even though many Ghanaians have criticized her.

however,  in 2016, she made a shocking U-turn to say she, indeed, tested positive for the virus.

According to her, She had to lie about her status to protect her children from stigmatization.
