In an interview with Wiper Bagga on Oliv Radio/TV, John Q made a submission about one of the main factors hindering the growth of reggae music in Ghana by advising Ghanaian reggae/dancehall radio hosts and TV presenters to use their platforms to promote local artistes just as they do for the foreign acts. He lamented about supporting our brands and creativity and the importance of  music and videos in the development of a child.

Talking of supporting our brands and creativity, John spoke about the importance of collaborations in Reggae music and he backed it by collaborating with his 2 best Reggae artists in Ghana, Osagyefo and Knii Lante.

He ended his submission by talking about empowering each other (Ghanaian reggae artists) instead of competing and disrespecting one another. He chose two successful and humble musicians to collaborate with to set a good example. The song was inspired by John Q and written for the masses at the legendary Zapp Mallet’s studio.

In the other news, John Q has shot the video for his danceable afro-pop song featuring AB, a seasoning American rapper on a joint titled “old time” in James Town, Accra. These are some of the behind the scene shots from the video shoot;
