According to Iyk Wonder, born Isaac Ambrose, It is an election year in Ghana and the world is looking up to Ghana to maintain the peace we are enjoying. “Should Ghanaians indulge in any violence, the country will be the loser because that is when our white folks will come and explore us to their benefit under the guise of aid,” he adds.
‘African Light’ is a conscious song which highlights and praises the struggles of some Pan-African leaders such as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Nelson Mandela and Nnamdi Azikiwe, towards the liberation of the African continent.
According to Iyk Wonder the struggles of these leasers shouldn’t be in vain because they were dedicated to the peace and tranquillity of the continent, which should not be toyed with by this generation.
“Our forefathers have fought a good fight and we must keep that inheritance. If Ghana and Africa can be a peaceful place, it is up to Africans and not foreigners as our new crop of leaders are portraying. Africa can also develop without the interference of the Western World,” he said with passion.
Iyk Wonder who hails from Abra state has been honing his skills back home in Nigeria where he started his music journey in 2003. His quest to find “greener pastures” in his music career found him in Ghana in 2008.
“Music spirit in Ghana is very strong and the success stories of my brothers, Patoranking, Mr Eazi and Flavour is a testament to it,” he said.
