Eventic Ghana Limited (@EventicGH), Organizers of the Volta Music Awards (VMA), in partnership with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), announces  a 3-day seminar in the Volta Region, to educate Musicians, Producers, Songwriters, and all music-related outfits on the awards ahead of official launch of its maiden edition.

The 3-day workshop sweeps through 3 zonal areas – Hohoe

 (Malezia Guest House)

Ho (Philip Tibu Villa) and Aflao

(Makavo Hotel) on October 20thOctober 21st and October 22nd respectively.

Seasoned but young Ghanaian Showbiz Personnel and PR Consultant, Elorm Beenie, is listed as the main Host for the event in all 3 locations. Elorm Beenie is an Author, A & R, seasoned Blogger and *PR Consultant for Africa 1 Media – an Entertainment law firm* that manages huge brands like Sarkodie, Samini, Bisa Kdei, VVIP, just to name a few. Elorm Beenie who has represented on an award scheme *(BASS Awards)* and has long standing experience on how awards are run as well as worked with many huge musicians of international repute would handle the workshop with MUSIGA Personnel from the Region (Tony D, Volta Regional Chairman of MUSIGA), Eventic Ghana Team among others.

This initiative is to inform the public and music industry players (in the Volta Region especially) about the various programme outlines, categorizations and criteria of the awards. The seminar will help artists and other stakeholders in the music industry to know what to do and what to expect before, during and after the main event.

Speaking to the CEO of EventicGH, Mr. Kwamivi Ashiaby says “The seminars are very necessary because it’d be the first time we are doing this for our Region and we need to sensitize the public, especially those of our brothers and sisters in the music industry, to know the rudiments of award schemes. Most often than not, they feel there’s some neglect for talents in Volta or Volta musicians aren’t getting the recognition enough so we had to put this together and help them understand certain things and how to get things done properly to get that recognition but within the Region, nationally and internationally. We will educate them on the award categories, and also how to file for nominations”, he explains.

“We will also teach them the necessary things to know about the categories and criteria definitions. We shall also bring out the awards timetable to ensure a smooth flow of events”, he added.

The organizers started with a radio tour to create awareness in the region and they did tremendously well by visiting  every nook and cranny. The tour started from Accra where they granted interviews both TV and radios in Accra.

The organizers had several meetings with MUSIGA executives and other stakeholders in the region, to seek their ‘two cent’ and signing of a memorandum to stage the awards with their involvement.

Investigations show that an award of this sort was once held in the region, but this very one is the biggest music award yet to ever grace the region.
