It was an exciting time filled with lots of fun moments and, most importantly, a range of jollof recipes that had guests winning vouchers to purchase sponsored products for free at the Firewood Jollof Festival that held on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
From the DJ’s sets to live band performances with entertainers like Segun Johnson, whose performance closed the event owambe style, Firewood Jollof Festival was reminiscent of everything a food festival should be about. Food, more food, fun, and giveaways.
Right in the centre of Victoria Island at Muri Okunola Park, hundreds of guests were given free entry to experience the Nigerian firewood jollof experience, and it was epic, with food bloggers and critics like Sisi Yemmie and Opeyemi Famakin in attendance.
Although the night was marked with exciting meals and challenges that saw participants take home varied cash prizes, the style we saw at the festival is a perfect guide for concerts and festivalgoers in this festive season.
From Enioluwa Adeoluwa’s resort-inspired ensemble to Hilda Baci’s aso oke meets modern aesthetics in a pairing of Andrew Tabitha’s turquoise ripped pants and a simple silk black cropped shirt; Tomike’s MSO Lagos full denim look; and Bisola Aiyeola’s Knafe jumpsuit moment, they all served range. Likewise did other guests in attendance, including BBNaija Season 9 winner Kellyrae, his wife Kassia, and Dorathy Bachor.
