25-year-old Shaimaa Ahmed popularly known as Shyma has been reportedly jailed for two years by a court in Egypt for seductively eating a banana in a music video.
According to a local media, she was tried and found guilty of inciting debauchery and publishing an indecent film.
In the video, the singer appears in a classroom of young men wearing an underwear and proceeds to suggestively eat an apple and a banana and pours milk over the fruit.
The singer and her video director were jailed for two years each and she was fined 10,000 Egypt pounds (201,600 naira).
The conservative government in Egypt has in the past punished people for promoting indecency.
