Drake loses $300,000 bet after Argentina beat Canada in Copa semi-final

Canadian music icon Drake suffered a $300,000 loss after Canada’s defeat to Argentina in the Copa America semifinal.

The artist, who could have won $2.88 million if Canada had won, faced another setback after losing a $565,000 bet on Tyson Fury in May.

The match at New York’s MetLife Stadium saw goals from Lionel Messi and Julián Álvarez, securing Argentina’s spot in the final.

Despite Drake’s optimism, Argentina emerged victorious and will now face the winner of Uruguay vs. Colombia in the final at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on July 14.

Canada will compete for third place against the losing team from the other semifinal.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, Drake had shared his bet slip on Instagram, captioning it with a playful yet optimistic message: “This could get Messi @stake.”
