Music star Davido has just stepped in to help a writer — who is also his namesake — with his Yale workshop fees.
David Adeleke took to Twitter yesterday, May 8, 2017, to raise funds for a workshop at Yale University. According to him, he got an email that he had been given a partial scholarship to Yale.
Davido, who coincidentally bears the same name with him, stepped in to save the situation.
With a goal of $3,500, David’s tweet quickly went viral and through crowd-funding, $1,472 were donated by generous Nigerians.
Some noticed he beared the same name and surname with supertsar, Davido, and they tagged the singer and told him it was only right for him to help out his namesake.
The tweets got to Davido and he responded!
The ‘If’ singer asked the young writer to send him a direct message on Twitter.
Fans lauded Davido for this act of generosity. Though the actual amount in which he donated to David wasn’t disclosed, either way, we know he donated to his education.
