The daughter of Kofi Middleton-Mends has revealed that the veteran actor died of acute kidney failure.
Araba Botchwey in an interview with myjoyonline.com revealed that the actor had been battling kidney disease for over two years stating he died while being receiving dialysis treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Monday.
Kofi Middleton Mends is remembered for his famous television adverts for Key Soap, as well as such Ghanaian classics as No Tears for Ananse (1968). His last movie role was in Shirly Frimpong Manso’s Grey Dawn (2015). His death follows the passing away of veteran actor, George Williams who died aged 87 at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
He died aged 77 survived by a wife and three children. He had five children but two had passed.
