According to the company, the new TOTAL Excellium has undergone periodic checks and it is improved to serve as an engine cleaner. It also helps reduce pollution. Ghana becomes the fourth country in Africa to experience the product after it was launched in Morocco, Ivory Coast and Uganda.
The Managing Director of Total Ghana Olivier Van Parys, explained that the Excellium technology is composed of a number of additives like detergent and anti-oxidant to improve the efficiency of vehicle engine.
He added that the introduction of the new products have been occasioned by the fact that car manufacturers are making great efforts to improve their engines in terms of performance, efficiency, cleanliness and as such fuel retailers must provide a dynamic fuel that correspond with the evolution in technology.
The distinct characteristic of Excellium, Mr. Van Parys explained, is its ability to enhance engine performance which ultimately leads to lower fuel consumption as well as lower pollution level from the vehicle.
“We have put in efforts to ensure that Excellium technology prevents fouling and accumulation of deposit in the engines which enhances its overall performance,” he said.
In developing the technology, a team of researchers drawn from around the world went through over 500 laboratory analysis and testing to validate the Excellium technology.
The novel technology, the Total MD said, would come at no extra to the consumer as it would be retailed at the prevailing fuel prices.
