Nigerian global trotter, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Starboy Wizkid bagged three awards with his megahit single “come closer” featuring Canadian rap kingpin Drake at the just ended AFRIMA. The third edition of All African Music Awards 2017 (AFRIMA) took place on Sunday 12th of November at Eko Hotel, Lagos. CEO of Starboy Records, swept three  biggish awards under his sleeves assorting from Best male artiste West Africa, Artiste of the year and the Best song of the year.

Besides the Best artiste of the year which was received on his behalf by Olisa Adibua, the champion boy was present to receive the other 2 awards. Senior kahuna 2Face and DJ Jimmy presented Wizkid with the Best artiste of the year and Best song of the year awards. Upon receiving the awards, he ceased the moment to pour out his profound gratitude, love and appreciation to his fans, industry players and organisors of the ceremony. He also expressed appreciation to the bigwigs in the Nigerian music industry for been a pillar of hope, strength, inspiration and paving the way for them to sail through and also mount it to the next level.
