Radio and TV personality, Caroline Sampson presents a new networking event for women, dubbed ‘Girlfriends’. The maiden edition will take place this Saturday, May 6 at Hotel Casarere, East Legon.

‘Girlfriends’ would bring a number of ladies together and engage them in conversations relating to career, relationship, lifestyle among others. It seeks to create a laid back atmosphere for these ladies to be able to talk, laugh, hug, share ideas, seek advice, find solutions to problems and even cry if they have to over drinks, food and good music. With Caroline’s audience and followership over the last half decade, we see a unique opportunity to capitalize on the void space in our pop culture medium to interact with these audiences.

The messages from her combined social media following of nearly a half million, have strong indicators showing the desire of the audience, especially the ladies to engage with her on a daily basis. Often, the interaction is direct and personal in varying capacities from the deeply personal to the trivial.

Caroline Sampson started her journey within the media in 2005 with an appearance on the 3rd edition of the popular reality television pageant Miss Malaika as a contestant. She ended as a finalist and used the opportunity to propel a career. She used the platform shrewdly and became the only contestant to have the opportunity to work with Atlantis Radio, one of the top radio stations in Accra, hosting Continuous Drive and Mellow Cruise.

Her professional on- screen debut was for the national broadcaster, GTV, on the U-Win Game Show. She then moved to TV3, a private free-to-air channel, presenting an entertainment programme called Hitz Video. For her next endeavor, Caroline joined a formidable and well- respected full spectrum radio station, Citi 97.3 FM, hosting the daily programme Room 973, and two other shows on the station, Rhythms in the Citi & Citi Countdown.

After two years at Citi 97.3fm, Caroline joined Yfm and E’TV Ghana. She has hosted programmes like Room Service and E on E (Entertainment on E’Tv) on Yfm and E’Tv respectively. She also hosted the after drive show, Y lounge and currently hosting the lunch time show Shouts On Y. In June 2011 Caroline co- hosted the hit reality TV show, Malta Guinness Street Dance, shot in Accra and Lagos and aired on at least five TV stations in Ghana.
