Nominations for the 62nd Grammy award is out and fortunately for Nigerian’s singer, songwriter and Afro fusion icon Burna Boy, his “African Giant” album made it to the “Best World Music Album” category. Speaking in an exclusive interview on Breakfast Show during one of Burna Boy’s media tours in USA some few months back, he was positive about getting a Grammy nomination with his new album looking at the amount of work put into it. His dream has come to pass.

He was nominated alongside the artists below and their respective album titles:
•Gece — Altin Gün
•What Heat — Bokanté & Metropole •Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley
•Fanm D’ayiti — Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet
•Celia — Angelique Kidjo

His reason for choosing the album title “African Giant” is to fillip people who do their best to shine light on others who don’t see the light. Or anyone who wakes up in the morning to make life better for others is an “African Giant.” No wonder he’s no where near slowing down but rather connecting with a whole new set of audience worldwide.

If I’m not mistaking, he has done the most media tours outside Africa and sold out countless venues in 2019 more than any African artist. Kudos to Burna Boy and his management team for putting in lots of work: promoting, performing and touring the world with the album. We hope to see you win big.
