The Boabab Children Foundation has opened an art exhibition from 2nd to 26th February, 2017 at the Accra City Hotel to showcase and sell art collections from it’s students.
The art exhibition is parts of the NGO’s plan to raise funds to cater for operations at Baobab School for Trades and Traditional Arts. The school is entirely founded by revenue generated from sales of art works by student and the foundations asserts.
The founder of Boabad Children Foundation, Adith de Vos, stated that she is delighted to see the foundation celebrate its 10th anniversary and also to witness the many successes its students have chalked. She asserted that scouting and equipping these children with the artistic skills they posses is not an easy task.
Adith de Vos also pleaded for governmental recognition and support to help empower the Ghanaian youth.
The opening of the exhibition was graced by teachers, alumini of the school and some art enthusiasts who made purchases of art collections.
Students Baobab School for Trades and Traditional Arts receive training in Art, Kente weaving, Batik, Carpentry, Cane and Bamboo furniture making, Sewing and Bead making. There is also a feeding plan and a hostel facility to accommodate students all at not cost but a commitment fee of 30 cedis a term.
Located on the country side, Kwahinkrom near Kissi in the Central Region, the school for the past 10 years has impacted the lives of many children in Ghana and continues to.
