Bisa app, the leading medical application in Ghana has been awarded Best Health App of the year at the 2017 People’s Choice Practitioners (PCP) Honours. The award recognises Bisa’s contribution to the Health sector, as an innovative and refreshing means of consulting with physicians eliminating the long queues and stigmatization that comes along with some health issues in Ghana.

The event, graced by his Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and chaired by Prof. Joseph Acheampong brought together distinguished personalities at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi. The award scheme in its maiden edition, is a national medico-social initiative geared towards celebrating excellence in the health sector.

The Co- founder of Oasis Websoft Ltd. creators of Bisa Health App, Miss Harriet Adansi and Dr Abena Tannor an official doctor on Bisa App picked up the esteemed Award at a ceremony held at the Golden Tulip hotel, Kumasi.

Bisa’s Award is one of 33 awards announced at the event which had Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu as the Guest of Honour. Prominent among the awardees is renowned heart surgeon and Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Hon. Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng who was awarded “Legend of the Year”; musician and Hepatitis B icon, Okyeame Kwame who received “Outstanding Health Ambassador”.

Bisa means “ask” in the Ghanaian Twi language. This mobile phone application allows users across Android, iphone and Windows platforms to directly interact with medical practitioners and professionals at their convenience from the click of a button. This is a real advantage to people with health related queries who for one reason or another (e.g. inability to afford consultation fees, fear of stigmatisation especially for those who have symptoms of Sexually Transmitted Diseases, etc) are unable to present themselves at the hospital. Bisa now allows users to send a picture of the area they are concerned about and also record a video and audio message of their problems in their local dialects. The Bisa team is made of over 25 doctors , technologists and health specialists. Find out more about this product at www.bisaapp.com or download Bisa on your smart phone from here
