Stick a designer label on something and even the most suspect of designs becomes art. Just look at Balenciaga. The fashion house is no stranger to creating ugly statement pieces as it was, after all, responsible for the current ugly trainer craze.
And now it’s turning its attention towards menswear, specifically shirts. For £1,085 (about 520,000 Naira) you can buy a lovely double shirt. Yes, that’s a striped short-sleeved number with a long sleeved shirt sewn on top.
Balenciaga claims that the design offers wearers two wearing options: you can either wear the long sleeves as a bizarre front panel design, or as a fake double layer.
Balenciaga isn’t the only house that has that two-shirt, Vetements which share’s creative director Demna Gvasalia with Balenciaga, has also launched a double-shirt.
