Wizkid and Davido are in a social media war and fans have taken sides already.
So there’s been a subtle back and forth between the two in recent times, but none has been more indirect than this.
In case you’re still wondering how that refers to Davido, let’s enlighten you.
The beef started when the lyrics for Davido’s part in Olamide’s latest single ‘Summer Body’ became public knowledge. In the song, Davido made reference to his status as a half American and how people still think he is local.
“With our Yankee passport/Dem say we local/You better catch up/I go see you later,” Davido sang, referencing Wizkid’s previous shade where the Starboy branded him a local artist.
Wizkid then responded to this diss, saying that having an American passport is not the cure to all illnesses.
“My people make una remember say Yankee passport no be baba blue, e no dey cure frog voice,” the starboy wrote.
Of course, Twitter went into a meltdown over this fresh spat, as fans took up defensive positions beside their heroes. See reactions below:
