It’s 3 days to the biggest awards ceremony in Nollywood – the AMVCAs and we’re all pumped and excited for all the fashion wins and unavoidable fails we’re definitely going to be seeing on the red carpet.

For us at Star.Ng, we’re looking forward to a few faces who have brought their A-game to the AMVCAs red carpet in the past. Hopefully, they live up to the very high expectations we’ve set for them and don’t fall our hands on the big day.

Check them out below.

Genevieve Nnaji

We belong to the school of thought that believes Genevieve Nnaji can do no wrong but even if we didn’t, we would still not find any fault in the actress’ red carpet styles over the years.

Genny is simply your superstar’s superstar and the class and elegance she brings to her red carpet style (and every other thing she does) are just a few of the reasons she’s our fave!

She’s definitely topmost on our list of celebrities we can’t wait to see at this year’s edition.

Mercy Aigbe-Gentry

You could argue that Mercy’s dress to last year’s AMVCA did more for her career than her years of acting and you wouldn’t be (very) wrong because the truth is, prior to that dress, a lot of us didn’t know who the actress was.

She made such a huge statement on the red carpet that months after, people were still talking about it. Mercy was the official best dressed celebrity on social media and deservedly so.

Eku Edewor

You could lift Eku from the AMVCAs red carpet straight into the Oscars and she’ll still fit perfectly in, even outshining most of the big names in Hollywood.

Nobody does AMVCA red carpet like Eku does it.

If she attends this year, it would be her first big outing since she welcomed her baby girl last year and we have no doubt, not a single one, that she will wow.

Beverly Naya

Beverly has shown serious prospects on the red carpet over the years. The green dress she wore last year was a big hit!

Rita Dominic

Before Rihanna tied a scarf to collect her CFDA Fashion Icon award, our own Queen of Zamunda had done that. The look was refreshingly different from what we were used to on the red carpet and years after she did that, she has slayed a few other looks on the red carpet.

Osas Ajibade

Since the birth of her baby, Osas has been struggling a bit with her style and that is very understandable because the changes in your body after a pregnancy can throw you off balance.

But before the baby came along, the actress and media personality was such a delight on the red carpet and we’re hoping that come saturday, she’d have gotten her mojo back.

She doesn’t necessarily need to go back to the same body size, all she needs is find what works for her new body.

Minnie Dlamini

The South African media girl returns as co-host for the awards this year. She had a fab red carpet moment last year in an ivory number by Gert-Johan Coetzee and we’re looking forward to the South African magic she’ll be bringing this year.

Caroline Danjuma

Caroline stepped out last year looking like she was dipped in gold. She seems to understand that there’s no half-measures when it comes to the AMVCA red carpet – if it’s worth doing, then it’s worth doing absolutely well.

Definitely on our radar this year.

Toyin Aimakhu

Toyin looked surprisingly elegant at last year’s awards ceremony. We were pleasantly shocked.

We’re clutching our hearts and hoping this is not a one-time thing.
