After months of legal proceedings, Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye and embattled Evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, have amicably resolved their disputes in court.
The settlement, now formally adopted as a Consent Judgment by both the Tema Land Court and the Tema Main Court, brings an official end to the lawsuits that had captured public attention since mid-2025.
The legal battles began following publications by Evangelist Patricia Asiedua that Empress Gifty claimed were damaging to her reputation. Empress Gifty initially filed two separate suits—on May 20, 2025, and June 26, 2025—seeking:
- Forty million Ghana Cedis (GH¢40,000,000.00) in damages for alleged slander and libel.
- A perpetual injunction to prevent further defamatory statements.
- Removal of all related content from social media platforms.
- Full coverage of legal costs and professional fees.
According to a statement from Agyaa Asamani Law Consult, which represented Agradaa, the dispute has been resolved through constructive dialogue, leading to a privately negotiated settlement. The terms of the agreement, now legally binding, include:
- Payment of GH¢100,000 – Evangelist Patricia Asiedua has paid Empress Gifty a total of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis, covering legal fees and related expenses.
- Public Apology and Retraction – Evangelist Asiedua has publicly retracted the statements that led to the lawsuits and issued a formal apology to Empress Gifty.
- Content Removal Request – Both parties have petitioned the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) to remove the implicated publications from social media platforms.

With the adoption of these terms by the courts, Empress Gifty has agreed to irrevocably relinquish all claims and demands related to the cases. The firm says that the settlement ensures a final and binding conclusion to the matter while allowing both parties to move forward.
Richard Asare Baffour, Esq., counsel for Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, confirmed that the payment had been made in full and the public apology delivered, marking the closure of the disputes.
This resolution not only ends months of public scrutiny but also highlights the potential for peaceful settlements in high-profile legal disputes. Both parties are now free to focus on their personal and professional pursuits without further legal entanglements.
