A Circuit Court in Accra has convicted former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist, Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, for charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretenses.
The controversial founder of the Heaven Way Champion International Ministry was found guilty of luring her congregants into a money-doubling scam under the guise of a spiritual all-night service at her church in Weija.
Presiding judge, Her Honor Evelyn Asamoah, ordered that a pregnancy test be conducted on the self-styled evangelist before the court delivers its sentence. Nana Agradaa was subsequently escorted to a hospital for the medical examination.
The conviction follows multiple complaints from victims who claimed they were promised financial breakthroughs after handing over large sums of money during the said religious event—promises that never materialized.
