The maiden edition of the Hospitality Awards Ghana was held on Friday, July 26th, 2019 at Alisa Hotel, Accra. The awards recognize and award hardworking and deserving staff from three to five stars hotels in the country.
Executives from different hotels attended the event, some picked up awards, others enjoyed the night with music served from Ghana’s finest Highlife musician Akwaboah, other acts of the bill was Elorm, Camidoh and Mr Drew.
On-air personality, Regina Van Helvert compèred the event brilliantly, engaging the guests over time with questions such as ‘Which Hotel Makes The Best Jollof In Ghana’? This question became the talking point throughout the night as hotel executives threw in views to prove why each person believe the hotel makes the best of Jollof.
Among the high profile personalities that attended the event were the President Of Ghana Hoteliers Association, Dr Edward Ackah Nyameke Jnr, who in his speech urged the hotels to advocate for high standards to create the necessary healthy inter and intra-competition, and appreciate the effort and dedication towards excellent award show by 90Degrees Ghana. Also in attendance was Honourable Eric Osei, MP for Afram Plains South.
Ghana’s new afrobeat sensation Camidoh performed his hit singles – For My Lover and Yawa, he was followed by Mr Drew. The award ceremony continued shortly after dinner. Contemporary highlife music writer, composer, singer and performer, Akwaboah took over the stage and warmed hearts with live band performances of his compositions and songs from other Ghanaians acts.
