The year 2024 was quite memorable in Nigeria when it came to celebrity weddings.
Almost every month, there was a big celebrity wedding and it made the singles seem like there was a deadline to either get married in 2024 or forever remain single…hopefully, this is not the case!
But we cannot deny that the weddings this year were quite remarkable.
As we roundup the year, let’s take a look at some of the celebrity weddings that indeed broke the internet in 2024.
Kunle Remi and Boluwatiwi
We had barely finished wishing ourselves a happy new year when Nollywood actor, Kunle Remi announced he would be getting married to his lover, Boluwatiwi Oye, aka Tiwi in January 2024.
The lavish wedding was held in Ibadan, Oyo state, and the guest list had the likes of Femi Otedola, Sharon Ooja, Bimbo Ademoye and so many other celebrities.
Veekee James and Femi Atere
In February 2024, Popular Nigerian designer, Veekee James announced her wedding to Femi Atere in what was tagged LoveUnbeaten24!
As expected, Veekee James made us understand why she is the boss of the Nigerian Fashion game with her wedding! The whole lineup had about ten outfits, three different events and millions spent on just accessories making it one of the most luxurious Nigerian weddings in 2024.
Moses Bliss and Marie Wiseborn
Just when we thought the singles could finally breathe, Gospel singer, Moses Bliss announced his wedding was set to hold in February 2024. The gospel singer headed all the way to Ghana to get married to his bride, Marie Wiseborn in an event dubbed ForeverBliss.
This wedding sparked lots of debate from how they met (which was from social media) to the bride’s fashion choices. These however, did not stop the event itself which was heavily star studded.
Theophilus Sunday and Ashlee White
Shortly after Moses Bliss got married, another gospel singer, Theophilus Sunday decided it was also his turn to marry is lover, Ashlee White. This wedding which held in April, also sparked debates all over social media as people would always have something to say.
While some were surprised at how pretty his wife was, other had one or two comments about her choice of outfits for the wedding which they deemed not proper enough.
Davido and Chioma
In June 2024, we had Chivido2024 – the traditional wedding of Afrobeats star, Davido and his longtime partner, Chioma. To say this was the wedding of the year is an understatement.
From the couple outfits to the dignitaries and celebrities who graced the wedding, everything was on point and the Nigerian internet space could not stop talking about it for days!
Sharon Ooja and Ugo Nwoke
Nollywood actress, Sharon Ooja and her ‘Odogwu silencer’, Ugo Nwoke also had their wedding in June 2024. This wedding was quite controversial due to numerous allegations on how this was his third marriage and how they had little time for courtship.
This did not stop the lovely couple though and the wedding was all shades glamourous with numerous celebrities in attendance.
Wofai Fada and Taiwo Cole
Speaking of controversial celebrity weddings in 2024, Wofai Fada and Taiwo Cole’s wedding was also up there in the list.
The actress’s wedding announcement was surprisingly met with a public renouncement from Taiwo’s family who claimed they were not is support of the union. The couple however, went on to get married and even welcomed their baby recenty.
Prudent Gabriel and Peterson Okopi
In September 2024, Gospel singer, Peterson Okopi and his lover, Prudent Gabriel tied the knot. The event was every bit of a fashion show which was quite expected especially since Prudent Gabriel owns a fashion academy.
