2017 has come and gone with a lot of celebrities taking to social media to share their heartfelt messages to God and fans. However, as we celebrate the ushering in of 2018, we want to take a minute to reflect on some of our favorite stars who didn’t exactly have a rosy 2017 all the way but has come out the better for it.

Damilola Adegbite

Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite is topping the list with her lengthy post about her split from actor husband, Chris Attoh whom she said betrayed her trust. Asides her split, the actress also underwent some difficult health challenges but according to her, God was able to see her through it all and give er the courage to start on a brand new slate.

Sarah Ofili

One would expect that newly married Sarah Ofili shouldn’t be on this list but according to the former model, 2017 was the hardest year of her life. The beauty disclosed that she almost lost her mum and she was in out of hospitals with many abandoned projects. She however breezed through her difficulties as she found love in her storm and got married!

Toolz

Media personality Toolz Oniru also took to social media to express that 2017 has been the toughest year of her life as it broke her. The voluptuous OAP made it known that she spent too much time in hospitals and went through more than she could ever handle. Not only was she also in physical pain but she also revealed she had emotional ones to deal with as well. For her, she took away the lesson that everyone will go through some type of adversity that will potentially break us.

Tonto Dikeh

Nollywood’s most controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh may not necessarily have had a rough year since drama is not something that is new to the screen star. From her much talked about dramatic split from estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill to the many social media fights she was involved in, the actress sure has a reason to be on this list though she keeps waxing stronger through all that is being thrown at her.

Halima Abubakar

It wasn’t exactly an easy year for Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar who was so ill that she had to shave off her head and spend quality time in hospital. Many fans had been left scared for the actress and there were even rumours she was suffering from cancer. Colleague, Tonto Dikeh went on a solidarity hair loss alongside Halima to show some support and we are all glad Halima is fully back on her feet once again.

Mercy Aigbe

Everyone loves Mercy Aigbe and it is not just for her acting skills but also her sense of style. It came as a shocking surprise therefore when the photos of the screen diva looking battered appeared online. We soon learnt that she had been a victim of alleged domestic violence from her estranged husband, Lanre Gentry and the award winning star has since moved away from him.

Bobrisky

Many of you all are going to argue that Bobrisky is female but since he identifies as male, who are we to dispute with him what he is right? This social media sensation may thrive on controversy as part of his brand but he also had his fair share of 2017 troubles notable among which was his infamous arrest. According to him, the arrest was instigated by poplar celebrity designer, Toyin Lawani and a video of him (her) being thrown over the gate of his house also surfaced online. Many fans however started a #FreeBobrisky movement online and the social media star has since gone back to his/her antics.
