Seriously, check any show. There must always be a secret that traces back to one rainy night when a car accident was covered up or something along those lines. Sprinkle in a bit of murder and you have us on the edge of our seats trying to figure out who the traitor is.
- The rich person falls in love with a poor person.
Cinderella much? For some reason, a romance between people who are worlds apart is always present and we love it. There’s just something about forbidden love that gets the blood pumping. And when the person confesses they’d leave their family just to be with you? Stars in our eyes, even though that never really happens in reality.
It’s hard to find someone who loves you genuinely but in telenovelas, you’ll find many. It’s almost like around every corner there is a handsome man waiting to fall in love with the beautiful female lead and vice versa. The ensuing drama is always fun to watch.
- Something bad always happens at weddings
In the telenovela world, the best time to deliver bad news is during a wedding. If it’s not the man having a baby with another woman, then the first love of the bride just woke up from a 10-year coma and wants to see her. Think of the craziest reason to break up a wedding and it’s probably happened in a telenovela.
Don’t ask us how, she is just always there, ready to destroy the lives of everyone in the series. I mean, yeah, we have the occasional bad aunt/relative in real life but telenovelas manage to always play this angle all the way up. They will have you being suspicious of your relatives in the village for no damn reason!
