Her love for pearls can be traced back to her being an alumni of Howard University—a historically Black university in Washington, DC.
During her time there, she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. The sorority’s original leadership is referred to as “The Twenty Pearls,” and over time, members of that sorority have be known to wear pearls as a shared symbol.
The Tiffany & Co. Gold Necklace – ₦30,579,020
Another popular necklace owned by Harris is the Tiffany & Co. gold necklace from the “HardWear” collection which costs $18, 500 or over 30million naira.
This piece was won by the US Presidential Candidate during her visit to the U.S.-Mexico border in Douglas, Arizona – a move that sparked criticism as some wondered if it was appropriate for her to wear such expensive jewelry during a visit that is centered on immigration and economic disparity.
There was also criticism when she wore the same necklace to ask for donations for her campaign with some implying that this showed a disconnect between her and the middleclass.

This is perhaps one of the most controversial piece of jewelry owned by Kamala Harris.
The Tiffany earrings which cost about $800 r over a million naira made headlines during the first presidential debate with Donald Trump.
Harris had on the earrings throughout the debate and hours later, a bizarre narrative went viral on social media that she was wearing an audio receiver known as Nova audio earrings.
This narrative was later put to rest when people shared evidence that this was the same Tiffany earrings Harris have worn several times before.
