Although she never left the music scene, many have described her recent return to chart success as a ‘comeback’. Well, Becca couldn’t have picked a better time to return to chart success than at a time when she celebrates 10 years in music.

After ending 2016 strong with her hit, ‘Hwe’, Becca kicked off 2017 a full swing with hit songs like ‘Na Wash’, ‘Beshiwo’ and more. Her latest single, ‘You & I’ made it to Number 1 on the SoundCity African Chart last week. In addition to all this she is expecting to release a new album, ‘Unveiling’ next month and have a 10th anniversary concert this year as well…phew!

Becca’s ten years in the music business has been marked with highs and lows, rumours and well, more rumours!!! While we can each remember her for various highlights, I put her in a tight spot to give me her Top 10 highlights from her decade-old career; which started with making it to TV3 Mentor final selection and pulling out…

Here are her Top 10 picks

1. Getting on stage for the first time …LOL!!! It was Miss Ghana 2007 and it was great. I can never forget that.

2. ‘You Lied To Me’ – In the 10 years I will say hearing my music on radio for the first time was crazy.

3. When I was appointed as a UNAIDs ambassador. I love any opportunity to be ability to touch the lives of people.

4. Working with Huge Masekela was like wow!!! The legend him self… It was great having a song with him…and it was history.

5. Organizing the first all girl audience concert (never done before) – the Becca Girl Talk concert.

6. Registering 1000s of children on National Health Insurance and educating young girls on the importance on healthy living, especially menstrual hygiene.

7. First woman to win the overall video of the year at the 4syteTV Music Video Awards.

8. Winning the Most Promising African Act at the prestigious Kora Awards. It was amazing!!!

9. Receiving a Youth Achievement Award, presenting by the president of Ghana. It was an award for empowering the young.

10. My ultimate highlight is going into the studio to produce music. The results are amazing, especially getting feedback, and knowing what impact your music is making in the lives of people. Music is my life!!!
