All fingers are not equal and indeed we all do not have the same level of access to opportunities and resources (not excluding health care). It is in light of this that Proffer Aid International Foundation (PAIF), an NGO dedicated to advancing health care services per se to the ‘invisible and voiceless’ mainly in the rural areas, is embarking on an outreach to Akrampa, in the Awutu Breku District on Friday, December 23, 2016.

The General Secretary, Daniel Forson said disclosed the NGO’s intention of reaching out to people in less privileged communities in Ghana and making all efforts to complements existing efforts to improve health care in all communities.PAIF intends to, through this initiative, address health issues in the Akrampah (mainly through health screening and public education), provide free medication and to make donations (in the form of cash, clothes, shoes, food etc.).

In an interview with the Project Coordinator, Miss. Vicentia Amaglo, said that the objective of the programme is to pay back to society what they (students) have benefitted from it. “We want to visit the less privilege and put smiles on their faces this December” The programme, is to provide medical care, preventive health education check and advice on High Blood pressure, screen for Diabetes Mellitus, screen for and advice on Obesity, Screen for visual acuity and Defects, Screen for syphilis and other STI’s for the populace in the Awutu Breku and the rest of the communities. He said the students and volunteers will counsel communities on healthy lifestyles before the screening. The general public is thus being entreated to be present at the Akrampa community park on Friday in order to partake in this event and have all their questions answered.

Unlike other health outreaches that may not go beyond the D-day, this program dubbed, Smiling Faces comes with post-event follow-up visits. As per the results of the health screening tests, individuals with serious health issues would receive periodic visits and treatment from Proffer Aid International.

In view of this, interested individuals and organizations who wish to support this humane and life-betterment course May kindly contact Vincentia on 0249 367 625 or Hakeem on 0540 584 397 to arrange for their donations to be picked up.

Be reminded that, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. (Winston Churchill).” Help make a life today; donate to Smiling Faces.
