Wherever Blakk Rasta is, supreme manners and respect to him for using Kuchoko Festival 18 as an avenue to destroy traces of horrendous mental image society impose on the Rastafarian community at Junction Mall last Friday, 9/11/2018. At about 7:00pm thereabout, the venue was half packed. Hope to see the festival from time to time.

Luther King Children’s band kept the fans hyperactively on their toes while they performed well noted songs from renowned reggae/dancehall artistes like Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Jah Cure and the likes. They drove the fans crazy like mad dogs when they performed “suit and tie” off Stonebwoy’s “EOM album” alongside “come from far”. Masaany followed up with another electrifying performance with his wife backing him on stage. Isn’t that romantic and sweet of his wife to be that supportive. It’s expected of every woman to be supportive.

Isaaqa Ba, Black Emprezz, Jah Wise, Felix Jah Know and Jah Wi delivered their best till Xali Hali with her excellent in class eye-catching figure and commanding voice. The uproar from the crowd when they saw her particularly the guys was as if Ghana had won world cup for the first time in history. Vibration King, Samperoro, Paa Willie & The Scroll also gave their best but when Ras Kuuku stepped on stage, he was embraced with too much love and energy. Osagyefo, Red Fyah, Mighty Orthodox band, Ras Revolution & The Abyssinian band also rocked.

There was a dance interlude to balance the days activity. Afterwards, Dr. Knii Lante gingered the audience up for the Kuchoko president to take over. Blakk Rasta stepped up on stage fully dressed in all black Tae Kwando apparel matched up with his Gideon boot. Like a shepherd, Blakk Rasta drove everyone to a safe destination. Lest I forget, I was a love band affair.

I stand to be corrected, for the first time in my life I have witnessed an event with no security yet the event was more successful than most secured events in Ghana. When you water the whole scenario down, you’ll realize that the Rastafarian community is very disciplined, conscious, educated, intelligent and open-hearted. I hang my pen.
