Honourable Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central says he counts it as a blessing to be able to support the ageing musicians of our time to ease their plight.

The MP made the statement when he presented a total of GHC 5,000.00 to five musicians who were honoured by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) at the recent Presidential Grand Ball held at the State House Banquet Hall.

The presentation is in fulfilment of a promise the MP for Assin Central made at the gala event to the five who are Nana Kwame Ampadu, C.K Mann, Obouba J.A Adofo, A.B Crentsil and Jewel Ackah.

The presentation of cash took place on Tuesday, January 16 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

The MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kuffuor aka Obuor gave a brief background on the Ageing Musician Welfare Fund (AMWeF), how it came about, the policies governing the fund and the plans laid down to grow the fund. He expressed his gratitude for the hard work and the support of team towards the Endowment fund for the ageing musicians.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Nana Kwame Ampadu expressed their excitement for what Kennedy Agyapong has done for them and prayed for exceeding blessings to replenishe his stock.

Ampadu also commended the MUSIGA President Obuor and applauded the establishment of the Grand Ball event which seeks to raise funds for the support of the Ageing Musicians’ Welfare Fund every year. Nana Ampadu also commended the Grand Ball Board for the marvellous work they did resulting in the successful gala and raising funds for AMWeF.

The MUSIGA Grand Ball is an annual fund raising event organized by the Union that brings together leaders of society and captains of industry in Ghana.
