Cast from The Cursed ones picking up the ultimate award
The second edition of the Golden Movie Awards Africa has ended in Accra with Nana Obiri Yeboah’s ‘Cursed Ones’ winning the top honours including Overall Best Film, Best Director, and Best Art Direction. The movie also won the Supporting Actress (Drama) nod for Ama .K. Abebrese.
The ceremony which was attended by movie makers and stars from Ghana and Nigeria saw Ghana winning 23 and Nigeria winning 6. Nigeria’s 6 awards on the night included Golden Sound Editor won by Puis Fakoke (Fifty), Golden Indigenous won by (Dara), Golden Short Film won by Femi Adebayo for Alima, Golden Editor won by Matthew Bate for Fifty, Golden Story (Drama) won by Afe Olumowe for Anniversary and Golden Actor (Drama) won by Gideon Okeke for Gbomogbomo Express.
Yvonne Okoro’s ‘Ghana Must Go’ won 4 awards including Golden Supporting Actress (Comedy) for Doris Sackitey, Golden Actress (Comedy) and Golden Story (Comedy) for Yvonne Okoro and Golden Supporting Actor (Comedy) for Kofi Adjorlolo.
The Golden Movie Awards Africa is the annual awards that honour the achievements in Africa Television, digital media and film industry. The award was hosted by Anita Erskine and comedian DKB. Rapper Okyeame Kwame and Afro-Pop crew, The Darlings rocked the event.
