Music icon, Beyoncé once again established herself as Queen Bey at the 67th Grammy Awards which held on Sunday when she broke multiple records.
The global star won Album of the Year award for her genre-blending album, Cowboy Carter. This marks a milestone moment in her career as she finally secured the win after four previous nominations in the category.
The award was presented by members of the Los Angeles Fire Department, who received a standing ovation for their service in battling recent wildfires in California.
In her heartfelt acceptance speech, the 35-time Grammy winner expressed gratitude to her collaborators, fans, and the Recording Academy.
“It’s been many, many years, and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer—all the hard work,” she said.
She also paid tribute to Linda Martell, the first commercially successful Black female country artist, emphasizing on the impact of Black musicians in country music.
But that was not the only record she broke last night. Beyoncé was also the the first black woman to win Album of the year after 25 years.
The last time this award was won by a black woman was way back in 1999 when Lauryn Hill won it.
The night was a double triumph for the Break My Soul singer, as Cowboy Carter also earned her the Best Country Album award.
When she was announced as the winner in this category, the stunned expression shot across the 43-year-old’s face was immediately noticed by everyone.
“Wow, I really was not expecting this,” said Beyoncé in her acceptance speech, thanking “all of the incredible country artists” who had voted for the prize.
The recognition came five months after she was snubbed at the Country Music Awards – even after she became the first black woman to have a number one hit on the Hot Country Songs chart, with Texas Hold ‘Em.
With this win, she became the first Black woman in history to take home a Grammy in the category, further cementing her as the one and only Queen Bey across multiple music genres.
She is also the most Grammy-awarded artist ever! Another record!
The 2025 Grammy Awards, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and also a=had some other emotional wins, stellar performances, and surprise moments.
Other big winners of the night included Kendrick Lamar, who took home Best Rap Album, and Miley Cyrus, who won Record of the Year.
